The Somali Education & Resource Center (SERC) is a nonprofit organization committed to improving the lives of youth and families through community-based social services, education support, mentorship, and youth enrichment programming.
SERC was founded to support underserved communities and ensure youth have access to safe opportunities, positive role models, and structured programs that support academic success, personal development, and leadership growth.
We believe every young person deserves the tools and support needed to succeed - regardless of background, language, or circumstance.
Our mission is to empower youth and families through inclusive community services, educational support, mentorship, and youth enrichment programs that promote growth, opportunity, and self-sufficiency.
We strengthen communities by helping individuals develop the academic, emotional, and life skills needed to thrive.
SERC envisions strong, connected communities where youth are supported, families have stability, and every individual has access to opportunities that lead to a successful and healthy future.
We work toward a future where every community member can reach their full potential.
