Propaganda on social media is circulating that the defunct Somali Education and Resource Center owns 42 child care centers licensed on the same day in Ohio.
"In the past two weeks, more than a dozen childcare centers in Columbus, Ohio have been attacked wrongfully through profiling and harassment by hecklers and people seeking clickbait, wrongly assuming that if a Somali, it is automatically the result of dangerous profiling."
The claim is completely fabricated. SERC (Somali Education and Resource Center) is a community service organization.
Over the past twelve (12) months, our organization and its affiliated centers have experienced an ongoing pattern of harassment, including repeated unannounced calls, false complaints, and fabricated accusations, including misleading claims regarding our organization's operations and alleged ownership of childcare facilities.
For clarity and for the record: Our organization does NOT own or operate any childcare facilities. We are a community service organization dedicated to educational and social support programs.
